Mobile picking of customer orders

A mobile application has been developed specially for completing customer orders. The following functionality is available in the mobile application:
– List of tasks for picking;

– Selection by warehouse according to tasks;

– Selection of items from the warehouse;

– Viewing information on the task;

List of tasks for picking up

It is necessary to enter the pin code by the operator and set the date of the task. The next day is selected by default. But the date can be changed using the calendar.

After selecting the date of the task, the list of tasks for this date is displayed on the screen

Selection from the warehouse by task

Scanning the box number

For picking from the warehouse the storekeeper selects the task to be performed by clicking on it.
After that, the app asks to scan the reusable tag barcode which the storekeeper attaches to the box in which he will collect the products. In this case, the tag barcode is ” attached ” to the assembly task. Several dozens of boxes can be assigned to one assembly task

Picking order form

After scanning or entering the box barcode you can start picking from the warehouse. In this case, the application opens the task form which lists the items to be picked from the warehouse and indicates the quantity or weight for each item.
The warehouse cell in which it is located is indicated for each nomenclature item. Sorting of order lines is performed by cells so that the storekeeper does not have to go back to select such an item.

Items selection from the warehouse
To select an item from the warehouse, the storekeeper approaches the desired cell and scans the batch barcode on the box. Also, the batch number can be entered manually by clicking on the “Enter barcode manually” button. It is provided to check the presence in the task of the nomenclature item for control of the scanned batch barcode . If there is no such item in the task, the application will display an error message “Batch with barcode […] not found!”.
If the nomenclature batch barcode of the item that is in the task is scanned, a screen opens where the application asks you to specify the quantity (for items that are selected in pieces) or weight (for items that are selected in kilograms).

The storekeeper selects the required quantity of products from the cell and indicates it in the application.

To change the selected quantity or weight, use the “+” and “-” buttons. You can also specify the quantity or weight using the virtual keyboard. To do this, click directly on the value of the current quantity (weight).
There is a simplified option for the selection of weight products. If there is a barcode with encoded weight on the individual product label, the application allows you to scan the barcode to enter the weight.

If you need to return all the selected products of this item back to the box, the storekeeper should click on the “Cancel” button. This will cancel the action by specifying the quantity (weight) and the application will return the screen with a list of task items.
If the cell contains several boxes with different product batches and one of them is out of products, the storekeeper should click on the “Continue” button. The application will register the quantity specified by the storekeeper, close the quantity specification screen and return the screen with a list of task items.
Next, the storekeeper must scan the barcode of the label on the next box from where he will continue the selection. The application will register that the selection starts from another batch of products.
After the required quantity for this item is selected, the application will turn the background of the item name green. To continue the selection from the warehouse of other items, the storekeeper must click on the “Continue” button. The application will close the screen for specifying the quantity and return the screen with the list of task items.

Viewing information by task
On the screen of the items list the fully assembled items are displayed on a green background by task, the items whose assembly has been started but not completed – on a yellow background, the items whose assembly has not been started – on a white background.
If you click on an item whose assembly has been started, the application opens the “Task line decoding” screen, which displays information about this item:
– Name;
– Cell number;
– Collected quantity (weight);
– Quantity (weight) by task;
– Box number indicating the quantity (weight) of this item in it;
– Batch number indicating the quantity (weight) of items from this batch;

Changing the current box
Changing the current box is carried out if the previous box is already filled with products, or it is necessary to select products in another box, previously “attached” to the task. To change the box, the storekeeper should click the “Change box” button on the task screen.
The application will open a screen where all the boxes “attached to the task” will be indicated.
On the screen, you can select a box already “attached” to the task or “attach” a new one.
To open a new box, you need to click on the “Open new box” button and scan the barcode of the reusable tag, which the storekeeper attaches to the box in which he will collect the products. At the same time, the barcode of the new tag will also be “assigned” to the picking task.

Finishing the selection from the warehouse
When all items for the order are picked from the warehouse, they are displayed on a green background and in the line below the customer name it is indicated that the collected quantity (weight) is equal to the quantity (weight) for the order, taking into account the specified tolerances.
To complete the selection by task, the storekeeper must click on the “Finish” button.
The application will check whether the selection is complete or not. If all items for the task are completely selected from the warehouse, the application will close the task and in the list of tasks it will be shown on a green background.
If the selection is complete, the application will ask the question
“The task is fully collected. Do you really want to complete it? Yes / No”. If you click on the “No” button, you can continue the selection from the warehouse. If you click on the “Yes” button, the task will be closed. In the task list, it will be displayed on a blue background. That is, it will be considered that the task is completed, although the selection from the warehouse is fully completed. This mode can be used if the warehouse does not currently have the required quantity of any items from the task.
